The purpose of the Act is to “improve opportunities for persons with disabilities and to provide for their involvement in the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to their full participation in the life of the province.” The Act defines a barrier as “anything that prevents a person with a disability from fully participating in all aspects of society because of his or her disability, including a physical barrier, an architectural barrier, an information or communications barrier, an attitudinal barrier, a technological barrier, a policy or a practice; (obstacle).” From new construction to major retrofits, Sente offers comprehensive design|build leadership to property owners to ensure accommodations are in compliance with the Act.
